Busy Summer Days – mostly a picture post

We’ve been busy bees this week. So I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pictures from the week. Saturday was my baby brother’s graduation party down at my mom’s house. As you can see WeeMan and Miss Mary were quite enthralled by the “bish” pond. It was blazing hot, so we didn’t get to spend as much time as outside as WeeMan would have liked. But he did get to spend a couple of hours watching the fish and trying to feed them pretzels, and catch them.

This is my favorite picture of the two of them. I think this one is going to be blown up for a frame and probably a scrapbook page of it’s own.

Dirty little feet dangling off the ground. Couldn’t you just kiss those little toes – in spite of all the dirt!

What do you mean the “bish” won’t eat my pretzels, mommy?

Thursday we went to the Muncie Children’s Museum with my friend Mandy and her little girl. It’s a small museum, but it’s perfect for a couple of hours with toddlers. There’s a lot of pretend activities and it’s all pretty open – so if your wee one is a runner (hmmm don’t know any of those, haha) you won’t lose them!

Dancing with the bees in the bee hive.

Exploring his 5 senses

This one is completely out of order, but I don’t know how to move it…. so excuse this interruption for a pool break. (This is how we spend our late afternoons in the backyard – notice the truck and the bike in the pool – there’s hardly room for WeeMan)

Okay back to the children’s museum – there were dinosaurs that were just his size. Here he’s trying to feed the dinosaur some of the sand from the fossil dig area

WeeMan was obsessed with the train tables. He could have spent the entire day in this area.

There were model trains to watch from inside an actual train engine. Another area he LOVED!

Lots of climbing opportunities too – here he is in a bird’s nest.

There was also a small area with local animals on display (yes there were bish) and pretend grocery store, post office, school, vet’s office, barn…. etc. I think he’ll like those areas more as he gets older.
Next week promises to be cooler and less busy. I’m looking forward to cleaning the house and working in my gardens. Need to get some pictures of the zinnias that are just beginning to bloom. I’ve also got to get things around for my Fabreze house party on Friday. So far I only have a few guests coming, but it’ll be good to visit and hang out with them.

  1. Those pictures by the "bish" pond are just priceless! What precious memories! I love that one of the wading pool as well – I remember those days well – I still miss them.
