Today has been a day full of blessings. WeeMan and I headed out early to meet a good friend from high school at a pumpkin patch near her home – about and hour and a half from our home. It was wonderful to go and visit her and her beautiful kiddos (they grow and change so fast!) Weeman was a dream on the ride there. We looked at trains and construction equipment – jabbered about tractors and the colors of the leaves. We sang along to Old Macdonald and other fun songs. He’s got the EIEIO down and the animal noises perfectly. When we arrived at the patch he marveled over all the orange pupkns and chose a big one for his own. He followed Carla’s big boy and was minded by her little girl (who’s still older than WeeMan) We shared a lunch at Carla’s house and played cars and dinosaurs and animals until time to go home.
The ride home was a little rough – the marshmallows in the Lucky Charms ran out which caused quite and uproar. But we survived and even managed to stop at the grocery store before melting down.
Homemade pizza for dinner tonight. Mmmmmmm. Another couple from our small group came over to share and let the boys play. Friendship bonds were strengthened and a good visit was had – my heart was touched when Trudy asked if she could pray over me. She said she’d been praying for us a lot lately. (they know the desire we have for more children) and she said she wanted to pray with me tonight – she’d been feeling like she was supposed to. It’s amazing to have such beautiful loving people in our lives to be blessed by their friendship gift.
Today was a good reminder of all the blessings in my life that I sometimes take for granted.
