We’re snowed in in Indiana – but we’re loving it. The timing worked out perfectly. WeeMan came down with bronchitis on Monday night and we were able to squeeze in a quick trip to the doctor on Tuesday between storm systems. So he’s dosed with meds and already feeling 100% better and mommy didn’t have to use a sick day or make sub plans. Couldn’t have worked out better if I’d planned it. This was supposed to be a HUGE storm and it was a big storm – but I wouldn’t call it huge. We’ve been out of school since Tuesday and we’re closed again tomorrow. The Level 1 travel advisory was lifted at 8 (that means only emergency personnel should be on the road or you’ll get a ticket) Right now we’re still under a level 2 – avoid unnecessary travel. Don’t worry we don’t plan to go anywhere. We’re enjoying time off at home. I love me a good winter storm. (Especially if I can keep my electricity!)
Here’s a few shots of our adventure today. Since WeeMan was feeling much better and starting to get a little ornery we ventured outside for about 20 or 30 minutes to play. As you can see he’s not a big fan of the getting dressed to go out part of our adventure. Bear is sitting in WeeMan’s chair watching out the sliding door, b/c weeman really REALLy wanted to take him outside and mean old mommy and daddy said “no”.
Here’s a shot of Beastie Dog. He’s not a big fan of the snow – he’ll play for about 20 minutes in it and then he wants back in on his couch where he can enjoy it through the window. Yep – he’s spoiled!
We got about 8 inches in the past two days – about 1/4 inch of sleet halfway through. We already had 3 or 4 inches on the ground so it makes some nice drifts for WeeMan. Love that grin!
My little crabapple tree in the front of the house.
Tomorrow the agenda includes fingerpaints and maybe some bread baking. I’ve got to make a meal for a family on Saturday and I’m thinking a loaf of fresh bread would be a good addition. We’ll see how motivated I get. Hope you all are staying safe and warm and finding some joy to count in the storm.
