Saturday Baking

So in my bizarre spur of the moment quest to feed my family better, I’ve decided to bake all our loaves of bread at home from now on. (We’ll see how long this decision lasts!) I spent the afternoon baking Honey Wheat bread – one loaf that went home with my mom and one that stayed here and multigrain bread – 2 loaves in the fridge for later in the week. There’s something that soothes the heart about digging your fingers into a loaf of dough stretching it and working it – eases your heart and takes the weariness and the hurts of the weeks and scrubs them away. Plus the smell of baking bread permeates the entire house and lifts your spirit. I’ll try to remember to take a picture next week when I bake more and post the recipes. ¬†They’re both super simple and sooo delicious.
